Reps invite Naira Marley, Mohbad’s manager over late singer’s music royalties

The House of Representatives has taken a significant step in addressing concerns surrounding the late singer Ilerioluwa Aloba, also known as Mohbad.

In an effort to uphold his rights and explore the need for proper compensation and royalties, the House summoned musician Azeez Fashola, known as Naira Marley, and Mohbad’s manager, Jiggy Adeoye.

This move, initiated by a motion from Rep. Babajimi Benson, reflects the House’s commitment to reviewing entertainment industry laws and contracts that affect artists.

The lawmakers aim to ensure fair treatment and compensation for Mohbad’s musical works while monitoring the ongoing investigation into his untimely passing.

The House’s Committee on Justice, Youth, and Legislative Compliance is set to engage in an interactive session with the involved parties to gain insights and guide potential legislative action, as conveyed in a letter dated Oct. 26.
