23 year-old suspected cultist arrested during operation in Ogun 

Twenty three year – old Afolabi Taiwo in Abioro Community, Sango Ado-Odo/Ota local government area of Ogun state have been arrested by the state police command “after attempting to carry out a felony.”

The command’s spokesperson , Omolola Odutola, on Friday said that “ the incident occurred on November 1, 2023 when Afolabi jumped into the compound of the complainant in Abioro Street.”

Odutola stated that the complainant raised the alarm that drew the attention of neighbours, leading to Afolabi’s arrest at the scene with the assistance of the So-Safe Corps.

“During his subsequent interrogation, Afolabi confessed to being a member of the outlawed Eiye Confraternity Cult Group. He confessed that he was initiated into the cult in 2020 in Ajah, Lagos State”.

According to her, the disclosure is important as will enable the police to obtain more information and quicken their pursuit of other individuals linked to Afolabi’s testimony.

She praised the cooperative effort between the police and the So-Safe Corps that led to Afolabi’s arrest and prevented his alleged attempt to commit a crime.

The suspect’s arrest, Odutola continued, was a first step in the continuous battle against crime.
