Thirty young suspected illegal migrant have being arrested and paraded on Tuesday by the Nigerian Immigration Service, Ogun Command.
According to State Comptroller Abosede Olayemisi, these migrants, who are from Congo and Benin, were also involved in defrauding other migrants.
Olayemisi claimed that after being discovered misleading their fellow countrymen with claims of a nonexistent business, they were arrested in Abeokuta.
She noted that their actions could jeopardize national security and that, following appropriate investigation, they will be returned to their home nations.
“They are 30 in number and we apprehended them at their office where they gathered and doing illicit business, they are defrauding fellow foreign nationals by bringing them in and collecting money from them. They promised them employment in Nigeria.
“After taking money from them, they threw them to the street. The next thing is to repatriate them back to their home countries,” she added.
