Operatives of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, (NSCDC) have been charged to enroll in professional courses that will sharpen their minds and increase their ability to contribute to the nation’s security system.
The charge was made on Wednesday by the Commandant General, Ahmed Abubakar Audi during his visit to Ogun state command of the Corps in Abeokuta.
Audi in his address at the state headquarters, noted that his idea is to fulfill the vision of the Corps which is “To build a positive culture that would create a new identity for the Corps in the security architecture of Nigeria”
Emphasizing that the corps is undertaking various innovative transformations that would pay off in the near future, the NSCDC boss urged men of the Corps to be professional in their duties and to depict the Corps as trustworthy in the eyes of the citizenry.
The Commandant General who had earlier visited the state governor, Dapo Abiodun in his office at Oke-Mosan, disclosed that he was on a tour of all the Corp’s commands across the nation to appraise the performances of his personnel.
“My visit is a normal Professional visit and operational tour to know all information about them. I’m here to see them, to encourage them and to appraise their performance so far and listen to their challenges, also to know the way forward to provide solutions to their challenges.
Speaking about the threat to national security, the helmsman emphasised that Nigerians must exercise consciousness insisting that anyone found guilty will face the wrath of the law.
“My message to Nigerians is that they should be very conscious and behave well. Nigerians are good people who respect rule of law but anybody who is planning to cause any trouble, we will go after the person.
The state commandant David Idowu Ojelabi, appreciated the Commandant General for his kind gestures and creative ideas aimed at bringing the best out of all personnel of the Corps.
Also in the CG’s entourage was the erstwhile Commandant General of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, John Adewale Abolurin PhD, OFR, Rtd.,; the Zonal Commander, Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, Zone A, ACG. Solomon Olasupo; the Zonal Commander, Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, Zone J, ACG. Fasiu A. Adeyinka.
He was also accompanied by the State Commandants of: Oyo, Commandant Michael A. Adaralewa; Osun, Commandant Sunday Agboola; Ondo, Commandant Olayinka Olatundun; and Lagos, Commandant UI Alfadarai respectively amongst others.
