OgunWatch reporter, 74 others for Synergy awards

The founder of Synergy Interlinks Network, Kazeem Adewale has said the forthcoming Synergy Meritorious Award would be celebrating over 75 Ogun state youths, students and politicians. 

Top on the list of the awardees is Miss Gift Barry-Oba, a reporter with OgunWatch online news platform.

Just on Sunday, Ms Barry-Oba won the most outstanding developmental journalism practitioner in Ogun State.

Speaking a press conference held at the NUJ secretariat in Iwe Iroyin Abeokuta, Adewale unveiled list of the awardees including Ms Barry-Oba, Saheed Adeola, a journalist with Fresh FM, Abeokuta, Dr Babatunde Adeyemo, the CEO Pelican Valley ,Hon Bisi Oyedele, the Ogun state House of Assembly member representing Idiroko ipokia state constituency, Hon Lukman Olaleye Adeleye, the minority leader of the Ogun state house of Assembly amongst other top dignitaries in the state.ย

He noted that the event which happens to be the fourth edition will be held on Sunday 17th December 2023 at the Olusegun  Obasanjo Presidential Libraryโ€™s Marquee in Abeokuta the state capital.

The digital and multimedia outfit is aimed at honoring individuals and youth personalities who have successfully impacted and promoted the development of youth and students in Ogun state.

Assuring that the yearโ€™s event would be the  biggest youth and students award in the state, Adewale however, decried over the lack of support and trust on his brand

โ€œ This is the most financially exhausting event have been able to put together, we have spent averagely 8.5 Million Naira for this event.

โ€œ Our award is very expensive and we are celebrating over 75 Ogun state youth and student 

โ€œ  What i  faced that almost looked like a stumbling block was people not believing in me especially those in top or high racking in Ogun state.

โ€œ They dont believe in the dream, so until you prove them wrong, tell them i can pull this without you they would not believe you. They see you as a liability instead of an asset this is the fourth edition but it took a doubting mind for say okay what is really happening to this award.

โ€œ And without support or people believing in you its hard for you to move but you know doing this event for 4years, we saw all this coming and we made sure we affect every possible challenges we could face and blocked it all. 

He promised the public of maximum security and a fun filled day noting that the Big Brother finalist Ebubu will be present to host the event, 

โ€œ We would also be having big brother finalist Ebubu to host the event, what we would not do we would not promise you would not see it on our flyers.
