BREAKING: Iyalode of Yorubaland, Alaba Lawson, is dead

Chief Mrs. Oluwaseun Alaba Lawson, the Iyalode of Yorubaland has been reported dead, at the age of 72 years.

She was born on January 18, 1951.

The Nigerian business entrepreneur and academician, the Iyalode of Egbaland, was the previous president of NACCIMA and the Abeokuta Chambers of Commerce and Industry (ABEOCCIMA).

Ogunwatch in a statement from Abdul Rahman Maku, the Executive Secretary of ABEOCCIMA, confirmed the death.

The statement reads:

“WE REGRET TO ANNOUNCE THE DEMISE OF NACCIMA PAST PRESIDENT & ABEOCCIMA MATRON / CHAIRMAN, BOARD OF TRUSTEES, IYALODE ALABA LAWSON, MFR, F.IoD, JP (IYALODE OF YORUBALAND) WHICH OCCURRED IN THE EARLY HOURS OF TODAY SATURDAY 28TH OCTOBER 2023.

BURIAL ARRANGEMENT TO BE ANNOUNCED LATER BY THE FAMILY.

“MAY GOD ALMIGHTY GRANT REPOSE TO SOUL OF IYALODE (AMEN).”
