Ogun places N50m bounty on killers of govt accountant

The Ogun State government on Friday announced a N50 million reward for information leading to the capture of Taiwo Oyekanmi’s killers.

Oyekanmi, the state’s director of finance and administration on November 29 was shot by group of armed thieves who ambushed a bullion vehicle attached to him carrying government funds in Abeokuta.

According to information obtained by our correspondent, the government accountant was returning to the Oke Mosan office after obtaining an undisclosed sum of money from the Abeokuta branches of Fidelity and Sterling banks when the gunmen ambushed the home-made bullion van carrying him and the cash.

About five hooded gunmen are said to have taken over the bullion van as it was crossing the overhead bridge at Kuto, and they then started shooting at the accountant.
