Troops of the 35 Artillery Brigade of the Nigerian Army, Alamala, Ogun State, have intercepted a Mazda vehicle carrying 441 wrapped pieces of Pawpaw-sized Cannabis Sativa.
The Brigade Commander, Brigadier General Mohammed Tajudeen Aminu, who on Tuesday handed over the cannabis weighing 223Kg to the National Drugs Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) in Abeokuta, noted that the vehicle with registration number NRK 622 SB was intercepted on Friday at Mologbede village in Odeda LGA of the state.
Represented by the officer Commanding 35 Provost Company, Major Gadzama Abdullahi, reaffirmed that the Brigade will sustain all efforts in working with other security agencies to eradicate crimes and other social vices in the state.
Responding to the Commandant of the NDLEA Ogun State Command, Commander of Narcotics Jane Ibiba Odili, expressed her delight over the positive collaboration and cooperation demonstrated by the Military and other security agencies in the state.
She acknowledged the unwavering support shown by General Aminu towards NDLEA operations, adding that the military’s support was crucial in enabling NDLEA dismantle drug syndicates and attain comprehensive results in its ongoing fight against drugs.
