Wizkid sparks controversy as he trolls Davido, Don Jazzy, others

In the early hours of today, Wizkid took to his X account, engaging with fans and seemingly trolling his fellow artists, Davido and Don Jazzy.

The drama began when Wizkid posted a cryptic message, stating, “Every day I get things to say, but my mouth no good.”

A fan responded, requesting new music, which prompted Wizkid to ask his fans to beg for a new music video.

He then shared a viral video of Davido kneeling and begging, implying that’s how he wants to be begged.

This move has generated a flurry of reactions from fans, with some expressing shock at Wizkid’s apparent trolling of Davido.

The post has raised questions about the nature of the relationship between the two superstars, who were spotted partying together in December 2023, with Davido even announcing Wizkid’s new album on his X account.

While some see the exchange as lighthearted banter between friends, others believe there may be underlying tension.

Wizkid’s attention was then drawn to a post by singer Ladipoe, who stated, “Afrobeats is going through its ‘Afrobeats is dead’ phase, after Hip Hop survived the ‘Hip hop is dead’ narrative.”

Wizkid responded with a dismissive comment, saying, “lol never chatting to anyone signed to an influencer. Next!”

Many have interpreted the “influencer” in question to be Don Jazzy, who signed Ladipoe. Wizkid’s statement has sparked a backlash, with some observers taking offense to his apparent jab at Don Jazzy and his earlier trolling of Davido.

As the controversy continues to unfold, artists are beginning to take sides, further fueling the debate.
