Ogun IPAC inaugurates new executives

The Ogun chapter of Inter Party Advisory Council of Nigeria IPAC, on Tuesday inaugurated its new executive to pilot the affairs of the association for the next two years.

 The newly elected chairman, comrade Sanyaolu Abayomi in his address promised to be committed to upholding the principles of impartiality, fairness, and inclusivity.

He harped that IPAC should not be seen as not an opposition body but rather a platform for dialogue, consensus-building among political parties and partner for good governance.

Abayomi equally stressed the need for them to pursue peaceful and harmonious co-existence among the political parties at all times.

โ€œ We want the state government and entire politicians in Ogun state to give honour to IPAC. IPAC first is not working with opposition, it is not an opposition body it is an open body to all political party. So it cannot be used to endorse anybody.

โ€œ If the government do well we would praise them and if they do otherwise we would challenge them.

The INEC REC, Niyi Ijalaye represented by Thomas Olawuyi, Hod General Admin and Procurement while appreciating the body for its effort called for more cooperation to enable the commission attain successes in 2027 general elections.

โ€œ As you are aware, in the next few months, we will be calling you (IPAC) for a meeting like this when political parties will be having congresses and some other activities like that.

“As you have been inaugurated today, in the next few months we will be having another Continuous Voters’ Registration exercise going forward to the 2027 general election.

“As we are speaking now, the 2027 election is not far, before we know it we are already there, so we are urging you to please cooperate with the commission so that we will be able to achieve the successes that we attained in the time past.

“IPAC is one of the critical stakeholders and we want you to work closely with other stakeholders that will also be coming on board so that we can have a good outing in 2027”.
