Patriotism, fear of God should be your watchword in 2024, Oba Odugbemi tells Nigerians

Nigerians have been urged to use fear of God and patriotism as guiding principles in their pursuit of a more prosperous and stable nation. 

The Olu of Lisa kingdom, Oba Nojeemdeen Oladele Odugbemi gave the charge in his new year message to Nigerians in his palace. 

Oba Odugbemi maintained that God has been so merciful to Nigeria and Nigerians despite  the negative happenings in 2023, hence the need for patriotism from the citizens. 

While praying for bountiful harvest for Nigerians in the new year, the monarch appealed to the people to be prayerful , to endure, committed and be united because it is only in the atmosphere of peace and unity, development and peace can thrive. 

The monarch urged Nigerians to be playmakers in the development and progress of the country as government alone cannot satisfy all the yearnings of the entire people.

He posited that the present administration of Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu is just seven months old, appealing to Nigerians to be patience with his administration, adding that their is hope for a better country. 

Oba Odugbemi commended the laudable achievement in the state under Prince Dapo Abiodun especially in area of infrastructure, health, education, calling on all stakeholders in the state to complement the efforts of the government in building a better society.

He therefore appealed to the state government to consider the construction of Ijoko- Oluke- Oyero- Lisa road in 2024 state budget which is almost cutting over 100 communities away from the state and have paralised economic activities in the area.

Oba Odugbemi  urged Governor Dapo Abiodun to extend his magic wand to the area in order to boost economic activities and as well improve the life of the people  by constructing the road leading to Lisa.
