A Magistrate Court in the Ikorodu area of Lagos State has ordered Wunmi, the widow of the late singer Mohbad, to be served with a notice regarding a pending DNA test application through substituted means.
This decision follows a video posted by Nollywood actress Iyabo Ojo, featuring the late Mohbad’s mother seeking help. In the video, she expressed concerns about threats to her life after her address was made public by bloggers.
It should be noted that Wunmi had previously stated that Mohbad’s father should obtain a court order for a DNA test, as she was tired of being harassed and accused of raising her son as a bastard.
Joseph Aloba, Mohbad’s father, filed an application through Emmanuel Okoro, the head of his legal team, on April 17. The application sought an order to serve Wunmi, citing previous failed attempts to do so.

Odumosu, a member of the Aloba family legal team, noted, “If the process were served at the respondent’s last known address by order of the court, it would constitute proper service, and she would be aware of the pending suit.” The Chief Magistrate granted the order and directed that the respondent be served by posting the court process at her last known address.
The Aloba family is contesting the paternity of baby Liam and has filed an application before the Family Court, seeking an order requiring Wunmi and baby Liam to undergo a DNA test at a recognized laboratory in Lagos.
