When I was starving, I drank garri with toilet water – Laycon

Laycon, the 26-year-old rapper and 2020 BBNaija Season 5 participant, opened up about a challenging moment from his past on his social media, X page.

He revealed a particularly tough experience in 2013 when, left alone in his wing of the Shodeinde hostel at Unilag, he resorted to using hostel toilet water to soak garri (cassava flakes) due to severe hunger.

Laycon vividly recalled the incident, emphasizing the level of starvation he faced during that weekend. He described soaking garri without sugar and using toilet tap water to drink it, noting that tears streamed down his face as he prepared the meal.

This revelation offers a glimpse into Laycon’s resilient journey, showcasing the challenges he overcame on his path to success.
