In an exclusive interview with NAOMI CHIMA of The Punch, Abosede, the mother of the late singer, Ilerioluwa Aloba, popularly known as Mohbad, opened up about the turbulent circumstances surrounding her son’s untimely demise and the complexities within her family, particularly concerning her relationship with her ex-husband, Joseph.

Responding to allegations that she left her former marriage when Mohbad was young due to pregnancy for another man, Abosede clarified that her departure from Joseph, Mohbad’s father, stemmed from a tumultuous situation where her life was at risk. She recounted instances of domestic violence and her family’s intervention to ensure her safety.

Abosede shed light on the strains in her relationship with Joseph, highlighting objections from her family to their union and subsequent challenges within the marriage. Regarding the circumstances leading to Mohbad’s death, Abosede expressed distress over the lack of clarity surrounding his passing, revealing that she was not informed by Joseph and was left in the dark until after his burial. She expressed doubts about the timing of Mohbad’s burial and lamented the lack of opportunity for further examination.
