Gas explosion: Ogun AAC sympathises with affected families

A devastating gas tanker explosion rocked the Ita-Oshin area of Abeokuta yesterday evening, leaving one person dead and several buildings and shops destroyed. The African Action Congress (AAC) of Ogun State has expressed deep condolences to the families affected by the tragedy.

According to eyewitnesses, a vehicle traveling from the Obada-Oko axis towards Abeokuta main city lost control, colliding with the median and resulting in a catastrophic explosion at approximately 5:30 pm.

“-We deeply saddened by the tragic gas explosion, which led to the loss of an innocent life and destruction of properties,” said a spokesperson for the AAC of Ogun. “This is a devastating incident that has brought pain and anguish to many families.”

The AAC of Ogun, in the statement signed by its chairman, extends heartfelt condolences to the family of the lone victim and expresses sympathy to those who have suffered damage to their businesses. “Our thoughts and prayers are with the affected individuals and families during this difficult time,” the spokesperson added.

In light of this unfortunate event, the AAC of Ogun urges Governor Dapo Abiodun to implement essential regulations for the safety of the people of Ogun State.

Specifically, the party calls for a ban on truck movement during the day to mitigate the risk of similar incidents in the future. “The safety and well-being of our citizens must be prioritized above all else,” the spokesperson emphasized.
