8 months after contesting under ADC, Tonto Dikeh departs for APC

Nollywood star Tonto Dikeh has formally switched her allegiance to the dominant All Progressives Congress (APC). 

Earlier, she had stood as the deputy governorship candidate for the African Democratic Congress (ADC) in the 2023 Rivers State gubernatorial election. 

This official transition took place on Monday at the APC National Secretariat in Abuja, where she was introduced as a member by the party’s National Women Leader, Dr. Mary Alile.

 The APC confirmed this development on their official Twitter account, along with images from the event. The post stated, “Nollywood actress Tonto Dikeh joins APC.

Tonto Dikeh, who was the Rivers State 2023 deputy governorship candidate of the African Democratic Congress, was unveiled by the National Women Leader, Dr. Mary Alile, and Deputy National Publicity Secretary, Hon. Duro Meseko, at the Party’s HQ.”
