Controversial social media critic VeryDarkMan has stirred up a storm by pledging to embrace crossdressing if Bobrisky, a popular figure in the crossdressing community, remains free from arrest.
This declaration comes on the heels of VeryDarkMan’s prior calls for Bobrisky’s arrest due to his cross-dressing activities. VeryDarkMan alleged that Bobrisky was shielded from legal repercussions by influential politicians with whom he maintained close ties.
However, ACP Olumuyiwa Adejobi, the Force Police Public Officer, clarified that cross-dressing itself is not considered illegal in Nigeria. As a result, the police cannot take action solely based on accusations of individuals being homosexual, which is a criminal offense in the country, due to insufficient evidence for prosecution.
In response to this revelation, VeryDarkMan took to Instagram to express his frustration. In a video message, he reiterated his stance on Bobrisky’s alleged impunity and announced his intention to embrace cross-dressing as a form of protest.
He stated defiantly, “Since the police claim crossdressing is permissible, I will soon adopt this practice myself. I will give them one week after withdrawing my petition against Bobrisky. If Bobrisky remains unarrested, I will transition into crossdressing and even use female restrooms.”
This bold move by VeryDarkMan highlights the ongoing debate surrounding freedom of expression, gender identity, and the limitations of law enforcement in Nigeria’s evolving social landscape.
