Trace awards 2023 winners: Rema, Davido, Asake, Yemi Alade, others win

At the 2023 Trace Live Awards, Nigerian Afrobeat artists Rema, Davido, Asake, Yemi Alade, and Burna Boy emerged as winners in various categories. Davido secured victories in Best Male Artist and Best Collaboration for his song “Unavailable,” featuring Musa Keys.

Rema clinched two awards for Song of the Year with “Calm Down” and Best Global African Artist (in a tie with Nomcebo). Asake was honored as the Best African Anglophone Artist, while Burna Boy received Album of the Year for “Love Damini.” Yemi Alade stood out as the sole female Nigerian artist to take home an award in the Best Video category.

The Trace Live Awards 2023, hosted in Kigali, Rwanda, celebrated exceptional Afro-influenced musicians across the continent. Additionally, a lifetime achievement award was presented to 2Face and Mr Eazi from Nigeria.
