Photographs capturing the wedding of Dr. Uzo Iwela, the son of Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala, Director-General of the World Trade Organization, have surfaced on the internet. The matrimonial union of Iweala and his beloved Lotte Elsa took place in Germany on a beautiful Sunday.

Njide Okonjo-Iweala, the groom’s aunt, took to sharing these images from the ceremony along with a heartfelt message for the newlyweds. She expressed, “As Nigerians and proud Ndigbo, a wedding isn’t complete until we, as a community, partake in the celebration of our traditional marriage rites, known as Igba Nkwu Nwanyi. In Heidelberg, Germany, we united our beloved couple. It truly does take a village, and Uzo and Lotte were surrounded by their village to honor and celebrate their special day. Another day of celebrating love, honoring traditions, and celebrating community.”

She concluded her message with warm wishes for the newlywed pair, saying, “To our newest couple, Uzodinma Iweala and Lotte Elsa, may your journey together be filled with everlasting happiness. We love you both dearly.”
