NDE starts registration of unemployed people in Ogun

The Federal Government has began the registration of unemployed people in Ogun state’s 20 local government areas through the National Directorate of Employment, NDE.

The registration period will run from April 17 to May 5, 2023, at the directorate’s office in the Federal Secretariat Complex Okemosan Abeokuta, as well as the state’s 20 local government units.

Alao Babatunde Ismail, NDE State Coordinator, explained that the registration exercise is being undertaken in order for the Federal government to be able to plan for people who are jobless in the society.

“The NDE is an organisation established in 1986 by the Federal Republic of Nigeria to combat mass unemployment and reduce the desire for white-collar jobs that are insufficient for the teeming number of graduates produced each year.”

He urged all unemployed people in the to take advantage of this opportunity and  register at their designated local governments in order to benefit from the programme adding that “ the federal government wants to have complete data on the country’s unemployed people in order to make adequate plans for them.”
