The Former CP Anti Fraud section of the Force Criminal Investigation Departments (FCID) Alagbon Annex, Oladimeji Olanrewaju has been assigned to Ogun State as the new Commissioner of Police to take over from CP Frank Mba.
The Police Service Commission (PSC) had promoted Cp Frank Mba who assumed office on 9th of February 2023 to the Assistant Inspector General of Police.
OgunWatch report that the announcement of the new commissioner was contained in a statement by the Ogun State Police Command Public Relations Officer, Abimbola Oyeyemi on Wednesday.
The new CP who is a history and political science graduate trained at the Police Academy’s Kaduna annex, entered the Nigerian Police Force as a cadet Assistant Superintendent of Police in 1990.
He was posted to the Edo state Police Command after completing his training, where he worked in several capacities in the Command’s divisional headquarters.
He has held positions as Divisional Police Officer at Auchi, Uromi, and New Benin as well as 2i/c Departments of Operations for the Edo state Police Command. He was once the police public relations officer for the Edo state Police Command.
He also held positions as DPO Mowe and Ilaro divisional headquarters respectively, as well as acting as the Area Commander, Ilaro area command Ogun state before now.
The new helmsman who also has a Bachelor Degree in law and he has been called to Bar was sent to Sokoto state as the Assistant Commissioner of Police Department of Finance and Administration after being appointed to the rank of Assistant Commissioner of Police.
OgunWatch also reports that he was also transferred as the Assistant Commissioner of Police in charge of the State Criminal Investigation Departments from the state of Sokoto to the state of Benue.
The statement disclosed that he was also one time Area commander Abakaliki metro in Ebonyi state and as a Deputy Commissioner of Police, the new CP served as Deputy Commissioner in-charge of State Criminal Investigation Departments in Borno state as well as Deputy Commissioner of Police, Departments of Finance and Administration in River state.
