Sex-tape scandal: Moyo Lawal reacts, threaten legal action against distributor

Renowned Nollywood actress, Moyo Lawal, has taken a stand regarding the recent emergence of a leaked video involving her and an undisclosed former partner that rapidly circulated on Saturday.

In an official statement posted by her, which Ogunwatch obtained, Lawal emphasized the non-consensual nature of the video’s release, asserting a breach of her personal privacy and trust.

Lawal clarified that the video was a private recording with her ex-partner, whom she had intended to marry, and was never intended for public viewing.

The actress has, however, expressed her intention to pursue legal remedies in response to the unauthorized distribution of the video.

Despite the distressing incident, Lawal underlined her resilience and her commitment to maintaining her principles, which included a period of celibacy spanning several years, infrequent dating, and a preference for solitude.

In her words, Moyo Lawal stated, “A private video of mine from a while ago has been inappropriately shared without my consent, violating my privacy and trust.”

She continued, “I want to emphasize that this video, made with my ex-partner, whom I had plans to marry at that time, was never intended for public consumption, and its unauthorized distribution is a transgression of my personal boundaries. However, this breach of privacy will be addressed through legal action.”

Lawal concluded her statement on a determined note, saying, “It is ironic, given my steadfast commitment to upholding my values, which included a period of celibacy and a deliberate choice to remain single for extended periods. However, I am resolute in my determination not to allow this unfortunate incident to shatter my spirit.”

She expressed her gratitude for the support and empathy extended by those who reached out to her during this challenging period, acknowledging the significance of their kindness and goodwill.
