Biden: US aided Israel in downing most Iran drones

President Joe Biden issued a statement on Saturday, disclosing that US forces played a pivotal role in neutralizing the barrage of drones and missiles launched by Iran towards Israel. Emphasizing his unwavering support for Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, Biden reiterated the “ironclad” commitment to Israel’s defense.

In response to Iran’s aggressive actions, Biden announced plans to convene the leaders of the G7 nations on Sunday to formulate a cohesive diplomatic strategy in response to what he described as Iran’s “brazen” assault.

The President condemned the unprecedented aerial attack carried out by Iran and its proxies in Yemen, Syria, and Iraq against Israeli military installations. Biden underscored the gravity of these attacks and pledged the strongest condemnation possible.

Recognizing the escalating threat posed by Iran to its regional allies, particularly Israel, Biden detailed the recent deployment of US military assets, including aircraft and ballistic missile defense destroyers, to the Middle East.

Biden commended the exceptional skill of US servicemembers, attributing their efforts to the successful interception of the majority of incoming drones and missiles aimed at Israel.

Furthermore, Biden disclosed his recent conversation with Prime Minister Netanyahu, during which he reaffirmed America’s steadfast commitment to Israel’s security. He praised Israel’s resilience in defending against unprecedented attacks, sending a clear message to its adversaries that threats against Israel’s security would not go unchallenged.

Importantly, Biden clarified that no US forces or facilities had been targeted by Iran during the course of these events, emphasizing the focused nature of Iran’s aggression towards Israel.
