Ogun: Abiodun commends army on tackling insecurity, calls for more efforts

The Ogun state government has commended men of 35 Artillery Brigade (AB)  for their leadership role and efforts to maintaining peace and security in the state.

Abiodun who gave the commendation on Saturday at the 2023 West African Social Activities (WASA) held at the Alamala Barracks described the troops as the hope of the nation and called for an increased  efforts despite the numerous security issues facing the country. 

The governor, represented by his deputy, Noimot Salako Oyedele, advised troops to remain focused, devoted, and professional in their tasks, and promised them of his administration’s continuous support.ย

In his remarks , the Commander 35 AB Brigadier General MT Aminu commended all the officers and soldiers of the Brigade for the successes recorded last year and urged them to do more in 2024.

“I want to use this opportunity to urge all my commanders to take stock of their achievement last year and plan for the year ahead . You must continue to give training priority in our various unit .

“In discharging your duties, you must continue to be professional and act in line with the vision of the Chief of Army Staff , you must also  continue to strengthen our operation and be proactive while prioritizing the welfare of our personnel.

” I will like to commend all the officers and soldiers of the brigade for the success the brigade recorded last year . Our achievement was as a result of their hardwork, commitment and dedication to duty , I urge you all to do more in the year 2024 to maintain the standard.”

He appreciated the Nigerian Police, other security agencies, and essential stakeholders for working together to achieve a calm and crime-free Ogun State

The commander reassured the residents of the sustenance of adequate security and urged them to keep providing reliable information that will support the Brigade’s operations.

The 2023 WASA was graced by Maj Gen OT Akinjobi (rtd) Former Chief of Operations (Army), Capt (NN) RA Raji (rtd) Former Military Administrator Bauchi State, His Majesty Oba Michael Gbadebo Aremu, the Alake and Paramount Ruler of EgbaLand, other senior officers both serving and retired, Royal Fathers within Ogun State, Chairperson 35 AB NAOWA, Heads of Security agencies amongst other dignitaries.

It  was climaxed with Cultural Troupe display, Thug of War and presentation of awards to the deserving personnel of the Brigade among others.
