Obi responds to FG’s asset disclosure request amid bankruptcy claim

Labour Party presidential candidate Peter Obi has urged the Federal Government to reveal the incurred deficit during the Bola Tinubu-led administration. The call comes after National Security Adviser Nuhu Ribadu lamented the country’s bankruptcy inherited from former President Muhammadu Buhari’s administration.

Obi, a former Anambra State governor, criticized the lack of transparency from the current government, emphasizing the importance of disclosing the deficit to demonstrate accountability. He pointed out the government’s failure to provide such information in 2015 when it made a similar claim against the previous Goodluck Jonathan-led administration.
