AGN suspends movie production in riverine areas after confirming Jnr Pope dead

Nollywood actor Jnr Pope has been confirmed dead following a boat accident on his way back from a movie set yesterday. Pope and three other colleagues were involved in the accident, but only Pope’s body has been recovered so far.

Initially, Pope was declared dead at the scene. However, there were later reports that he had shown signs of life when the president of the Actors Guild of Nigeria (AGN) shared on Instagram that the actor had moved his fingers and was transported to the hospital.

Sadly, despite medical intervention at two different hospitals, Pope was pronounced dead a few hours later.

The AGN president shared a post on Instagram this morning, stating, “It’s so sad that our joy was short-lived. My initial post was made in excitement when we noticed his tingling fingers.

โ€œDespite the best efforts of two reputable hospitals, we could not revive him. God knows best. We have lost him.”
