Twitter Outcry: Students Express Anguish

On Twitter, students vented their frustration. Oyinkansola Adeshina said, “But this is so inhumane and heartless. Do u even care about the fact people are struggling to meet up their needs?”

Elijah Oluwasegun questioned the feasibility, asking, “How do they expect us to cope? How will 9 out of 10 Nigerian students not involve in Yahoo? How do they want parents to cope with this increments? Very unreasonable people.”

Alumni Reaction: A Sad Day for Education

In an exclusive chat with recent graduate Joseph Aliu, he condemned the move, stating, “Today is a very sad day, looking at the astronomical fee hike.

It only shows how the management of the school and the government at large can be insensitive to the plight of the people.”

Aliu called on students to resist the increase, emphasizing, “There is no increase in wage but there is an increase in fees; this is evil.”

The Student Union, in a released statement, expressed its opposition to the fee increase. President Ogunsanya Bamidele Peter and Ojo Mercy firmly rejected the increment, emphasizing, “Education is a right, and its accessibility should not be compromised by financial barriers.”
