Nigerian singer Ọlawale Ọlọfọrọ, popularly known as Brymo, has reignited his ongoing dispute with Damini Ogulu, popularly known as Burna Boy.
Burna Boy and Brymo have been engaged in a long-standing online feud, which escalated after Burna Boy referred to Brymo’s music as “mere Yoruba proverb music.” Burna Boy also claimed that Fuji legends Saheed Osupa and Kwam 1 are superior to Brymo.
In response, Brymo took to his Instagram story to address the situation. The Yoruba folk artist asked Burna Boy to leave the pop scene and pursue other interests. He also stated that while Burna Boy has a good voice, he doesn’t use it effectively. Brymo added that Burna Boy, despite being an international artist, seems overly focused on seeking attention. He offered a subtle piece of advice, suggesting that Burna Boy seek help if necessary.
He wrote on Instagram: “@burnaboygram: Yo! Three things … 1. You need to leave the pop scene. You are seriously searching for something else, and with a voice like mine that can’t really sing. Focus on your path and share the gifts you have been given with the world. 2. I am on another level. It’s no surprise you can’t resist the urge to seek my attention. Your international renown is not enough to make you overlook me. What do you want? I can help if you ask politely.”
