Unknown gunmen kills two, leave others injured in Ogun eatery

Three armed men have on Monday killed two persons leaving two others injured in the parking lots of Diamond Dumplings , GRA, Abeokuta, Ogun state.

The incident occured at about 12:30a.m. on Monday.

The police spokesperson, Omolola Odutola who confirmed the incident said, the armed men arrived the scene in an unregistered black Toyota Hilux.

She added that they confronted the driver of a black Mercedes Benz GLE 350 with a DLA license plate, demanding the car keys before opening fire.

She said ” Three armed men in an unregistered black Toyota Hilux confronted the occupants of a black Mercedes Benz GLE 350 with a DLA license plate, demanding the car keys.

” The assailants opened fire, hitting one Ola (surname unknown) and one Shobanke Oluwatimileyin and two others.

Odutola noted that on the information, the
Divisional Police Officer from Ibara arrived the scene to restore normalcy  before transporting the victims to the hospital.

According to the spokesperson, the deceased were confirmed dead on arrival to the Federal Medical Centre, Idi Aba, Abeokuta.

” Upon their arrival, the attending doctor confirmed two fatalities, while the other two individuals are receiving medical attention at the Federal Medical Centre, Idi Aba, Abeokuta,” she said.

She assured that investigations were ongoing to unravel  circumstances surrounding the incident and to assess any potential links to cult activities.
