Tragic death of Borno lawmaker’s daughter shakes Maiduguri

In a heart-wrenching incident, Mrs. Amma Buwa, the daughter of Borno State House of Assembly member Bukar Abacha, met a tragic end as she was allegedly strangled to death by unidentified assailants in the Gidan Dembe neighborhood of Maiduguri, the state capital.

The incident sent shockwaves through the area, bringing all activities to a standstill as a large crowd of concerned residents gathered at the scene, trying to fathom the grim fate that had befallen the daughter of the legislator representing Ngala Local Government Area in the state.

According to sources, the tragic event unfolded around 6:30 pm on Tuesday, precisely when the victim’s husband had left their residence to attend prayers at a nearby mosque.

The grief-stricken husband returned to discover the lifeless body of his wife in their home, her hands and legs bound behind her back. Beside her, their two-year-old child cried, seemingly unaware of the tragic circumstances.

A family source shared the sad news on social media, announcing that the deceased, Mrs. Amma Buwa, would be laid to rest on Wednesday morning in Maiduguri.

“Inna lillahi Wa Inna Ilaihi Raji’un.

“Mrs. Amma Buwa was killed by some unknown assailants today after the Ishai prayer when they invaded her home, just as her husband had left for the mosque.

“Amma is the daughter of the legislator representing Ngala at the state House of Assembly.

“The burial will take place at 777 Housing Estate at 10 am in Maiduguri.

“May her gentle soul rest in perfect peace,” the family source wrote.

The Gwange Police Division has reportedly moved the victim’s body to the University of Maiduguri Teaching Hospital for further examination and a thorough investigation.
