Tiwa Savage clarifies stance on collaborating with female artists, features Simi in new single

Tiwa Savage, the renowned Nigerian music artist and mother, has addressed the perception surrounding her reluctance to collaborate with female artists in the industry. Despite the male dominance in the Nigerian afro-pop scene, there’s been a call for more solidarity among female artists to collaborate and uplift each other.

Amidst allegations of not supporting her fellow female artists and preferring collaborations with male counterparts, Tiwa Savage took to her Instagram to respond to these claims. She emphasized her commitment to collaboration with a post aimed at a fan who raised concerns about her alleged bias.

In her response, she stated, “But they always want to say Tiwa Savage does not like or support female artistes. Please who has more female collabs and there’s so many more not even listed here. Yall miss me with that bullsh*t narrative, I dey hustle, money dey my mind.”

To further buttress her point, Tiwa Savage recently announced a collaboration with the popular Nigerian singer, Simi. The track, titled “These Men Are Crazy,” is set to be available on all streaming platforms by April 5, 2024.

Excited about the collaboration, Tiwa Savage shared on her Instagram page, tagging Simi, “Men are actually crazy but I still want one in my bed sha. My sis @simplysimi got one crazy record featuring ABG this Friday 5/4/2024.”

Additionally, some of Tiwa Savage’s collaboration with other female artists were posted on her Instagram page, demonstrating her track record of working with women in the industry. The collaborations include “Tales by Moonlight” featuring Amaarae, “Stamina” featuring Ayrastarr, “Onye” featuring Waje, and “Yes I Do” featuring Ghanaian singer Becca.
