Tinubu to Chair Today’s FEC Meeting

Unless there is a last-minute alteration, President Bola Tinubu is set to preside over the second meeting of his administration with the Federal Executive Council (FEC).

This follows President Tinubu’s assumption of office on May 29, and the subsequent swearing-in of new Ministers on August 21 in a ceremony held at the Conference Hall in the State House, Abuja.

The FEC serves as the pivotal decision-making body of the government, comprising the President, the Vice President, who leads council meetings in the President’s absence, and the various Ministers.

Other notable attendees at these cabinet meetings include the Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF), the Head of the Civil Service of the Federation, the National Security Adviser (NSA), the Chief of Staff to the President, and any other pertinent government officials who might be invited to present papers.

The inaugural FEC meeting took place on August 28, held at the Council Chamber in the Presidential Villa, Abuja, commencing at 12 pm.

Interestingly, it appears that President Tinubu is instituting a change in the traditional Wednesday cabinet meetings, as these gatherings are now scheduled to occur on Mondays.
