The Commissioner for Rural Development in Ogun State, Olufemi Ilori-Oduntan, emphasized the significance of rural development for a nation’s overall progress.
He noted that the focused efforts towards rural well-being, led by Prince Dapo Abiodun, have curbed uncontrolled urbanization and its strain on urban infrastructure. Ilori-Oduntan, accompanied by the Permanent Secretary and Senior Directors, highlighted that this shift would extend the lifespan of urban infrastructure.
He also pledged to enhance the performance of key development projects like the Rural Access And Agricultural Marketing Project, along with the Rural Water and Sanitation Agency, both crucial elements of the Abiodun administration’s ISEYA initiative.
In addition, the ministry, beyond infrastructure, provides financial support to rural women, recognizing that empowering women is tantamount to empowering an entire nation.
Mr. Olutimehin expressed full support from the staff throughout Ilori-Oduntan’s tenure, noting her previous roles in the Special Duties Ministry and the State Primary Education Board.
