Rema rocks London’s O2 arena with Mavin all stars

Nigerian sensation Divine Ikubor, widely known as Rema, electrified the London O2 Arena on November 14, 2023, with his “Ravage Uprising” show, attracting a sold-out crowd of 20,000 fans, including Nigerian celebrities who journeyed to London. The event celebrated the vibrancy, diversity, and global allure of Afrobeats.

Rema, following in the footsteps of acclaimed Nigerian artists like Wizkid, Davido, Burna Boy, and Asake, commenced the night with a grand entrance on a stationary horse, clad in a mask and black ensemble, while kicking off his set with the latest hit, “DND.” The performance evolved into a melodic rendition of “Iron Man,” accompanied by captivating Indian dance choreography.

The “Calm Down” artist continued to captivate the audience with a repertoire of hits, including “Dirty,” “Ginger Me,” “Addicted,” “Why,” “Dimension,” “Soundgasm,” “Fame,” “HOV,” “Trouble Maker,” “Lady,” “Don’t Leave,” “Dumebi,” “Bounce,” and “Charm.”

A standout moment occurred when Rema brought out fellow Mavin Records signees Ayra Starr, Crayon, and Magixx for a collective performance of “Won Da Mo.” The night concluded with Rema’s performance of his chart-topping hit “Calm Down,” witnessed by over 38,000 viewers via the YouTube live stream.

Expressing gratitude to Burna Boy for support and inspiration, Rema tweeted a heartfelt message before taking the stage, reminiscing about Burna Boy inviting him to perform two years ago. This poignant tribute underscored the camaraderie and mutual respect within the Afrobeats community, acknowledging Burna Boy as a pivotal figure in the genre.
