Popular actor Junior Pope dies in boat accident

Nollywood actor Junior Pope Odonwodo has tragically passed away, just days after the death of actress Jumoke Aderonmu. The actor’s life was cut short when his boat capsized in a river while returning from a movie location.

The incident occurred today, Wednesday, in Anambra state, and has sent shockwaves through the entertainment industry.

News of the incident spread rapidly online, particularly after Junior Pope shared a video of himself on the boat without a life jacket, urging the driver to reduce speed and praying for a safe landing. He wrote on Instagram before his demise saying: “The risk we take to entertain you ; crossing river 9ja yesterday with no life jacket”

Junior Pope, along with three colleagues, lost their lives in the tragic accident, leaving the Nollywood community and the entire nation mourning. He is survived by his wife and three children.

The circumstances surrounding his death have sparked criticism directed at the movie producer, who is alleged to have failed in providing safety jackets for the actors.”
