Police nab TASUED student suspected to be Aiye confraternity “Butcher,” armory keeper

In a significant breakthrough, the Ogun State Police Command announced the arrest of Abdul-Azeez Ibrahim, also known as “Butcher,” in the early hours of January 27, 2024. Ibrahim is suspected of being a key figure in various criminal activities, serving as both a hitman and armourer for the Neo Black Movement of Africa, commonly known as Black Axe or Aiye confraternity, in the Ijebu Ode area of Ogun State.

The arrest was made at approximately 2:30 am in Ijebu Ode, where Abdul-Azeez Ibrahim was taken into custody. Notably, he is identified as an extra-year student at Tai Solarin University of Education, Ijagun, Ijebu Ode.

The Neo Black Movement of Africa, or Black Axe, is recognized as a notorious cult group involved in various criminal enterprises, including armed robbery, cultism, and kidnapping.

Muyiwa Adejobi, the Nigerian Police Public Relations Officer (PRO), shared this information on social media platform X on Sunday, hinting at a forthcoming media briefing by the Ogun State Police Command. The comprehensive update is expected to shed more light on the specifics of Abdul-Azeez Ibrahim’s alleged criminal activities and his association with the Black Axe movement.

The Ogun State Police Command has assured the public that further details on this case and others will be communicated as soon as possible during a scheduled media address. Authorities are determined to address the menace of criminality and uphold the rule of law in the state.
