Peseiro laments bad luck

Super Eagles coach Jose Peseiro expressed disappointment after the team’s 1-1 draw against Lesotho in the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifier. Despite dominating possession with 76%, Nigeria struggled against Lesotho’s resilient defense.

Lesotho, ranked 153rd globally, stunned with a goal from a corner, but Nigeria equalized through Semi Ajayi. Peseiro lamented their bad luck, citing a lack of goals despite controlling the game.

The draw puts Nigeria behind Lesotho in Group C, giving South Africa and Benin Republic an advantage. Next, the Super Eagles face Zimbabwe in Rwanda on Sunday.
