Our members were not part of those who decamped to APC, says ADC 

The African Democratic Congress in Ogun state has refuted the claim that, loyalists of the party (ADC) led by their Chairman, Chief Derin Adebiyi has followed the SIA vanguard to join the state’s ruling party, APC.

The report was debunked on Saturday in a statement made available to OgunWatch by the party’s state publicity secretary, Olumide Onabajo.

He maintained that true members of the African Democratic Party (ADC) remained steadfast and committed to the party.

Hon. Matemilola, the party’s state chairman, noted that “ADC is a independent force having no plan to join any other party.

“ Recent reports claimed that the ADC has amalgamated with the APC in Ogun state, this is false, the SIA faction, which had defected to the ADC before the last election, returned to the APC. 

“The ADC in Ogun state is an independent force with no plans to combine with any other party.

While urging it party members to uphold their allegiance and principles, he explained that those  who joined the ADC in Ogun state with the intention of using it for their own self-serving ends were the ones who left.

“The African Democratic Congress continues to be a powerful political force in Ogun state and will keep pursuing betterment for the state’s citizens. The party will not be persuaded by anyone looking to take advantage of the party for their own gain and will continue to stand by its values of openness, responsibility, and good governance.

The party’s state chairman however, appealed to all of its members and supporters to continue to be firm in their commitment to the to the party as it is dedicated to improving the lives of the people of Ogun state.
