Osimhen remains in Nigeria as Napoli expresses concern

Victor Osimhen’s prolonged absence from Italy continues to concern Napoli, as they anticipate his return for the next week to commence the intensive phase of his recovery process. Simultaneously, his ongoing contract negotiations with the club cast uncertainty over his future.

The 24-year-old forward has been sidelined since October 13 due to a hamstring injury sustained during Nigeria’s 2-2 friendly match against Saudi Arabia. This injury has caused him to miss the last three consecutive games for Napoli.

Osimhen has remained in Nigeria during his recovery, leaving Napoli in a state of anticipation. The unresolved contract situation has added a layer of uncertainty to his situation.

In the Gazzetta dello Sport’s Wednesday edition (Page 12), it’s emphasized that Osimhen is yet to return to Italy, and Napoli is eager for him to begin the intensive phase of his recovery work in the upcoming week. This step is vital for planning his return. Notably, a year ago, Osimhen experienced a similar muscle injury on September 7 and managed to return to the pitch by October 12.
