Ogun pastor confesses to defiling 16-year-old girl

The police in Ogun state have arrested a pastor allegedly involved in an incident of defiling a 16-year-old girl in Agbado area.

In a case reported to the police, Ogunwatch learnt that a family from Agbado, disclosed concerns about their 16-year-old daughter experiencing reoccurring infections and displaying alarming behavior.

Suspecting involvement in sexual activities, the parents convinced their daughter to disclose the truth, leading to a shocking revelation.

The 16-year-old victim revealed that Pastor Clinton John, a 43-year-old from Mega World Healing Ministry, had been engaging in unlawful carnal knowledge with her since November 2022.

Disturbingly, she also disclosed that the pastor had threatened her with harm if she ever exposed their clandestine affair.

Upon interrogation, Pastor Clinton John confessed to the crime, acknowledging repeated instances of unlawful carnal knowledge with the minor. The victim has been provided with medical forms for necessary treatment and examination.

The suspect, Pastor Clinton Oscar, is slated to be transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department Eleweran for a thorough and discreet investigation.

Speaking to our correspondent on the incident, Salvation Aworanti, executive director of the VARSH foundation stated that parents should be proactive in protecting their wards from potential sexual predators.

“Parents should stop trusting that individuals in religious or specific authorities can not engage in sexual abuses. When it comes to this social menace, no one is to be trusted,” she said.

“The government and relevant stakeholders in society should also do more to create a safe space for children and women,” Salvation concluded.
