Nigerian student dies within 24 hours of reaching UK for postgraduate studies

A tragic incident unfolded as Saheed Wahab, a Nigerian man pursuing his master’s degree at Teesside University in the United Kingdom, passed away merely a day after arriving on January 15, 2024. The news of his untimely death was officially confirmed by the Nigerians in the UK Community in a statement shared on their X platform.

The statement expressed deep sorrow over the loss, revealing that Mr. Saheed Wahab, who had come to the UK to pursue an MSc qualification, tragically passed away on Tuesday, January 16, 2024, in Teesside. The community extended heartfelt condolences, praying for the departed soul and seeking forgiveness for his sins.

In response to the tragedy, the community actively reached out to Wahab’s wife and family in Nigeria, obtaining permission to organize a funeral service on their behalf in the United Kingdom. Additionally, contact was made with the coroner responsible for his remains.

A Janazah (funeral) arrangement has been slated for Thursday, January 25, 2024, at Jamia Masjid Al Madina, located at 133a Waterloo Rd, Middlesbrough TS1 3JB, where friends, family, and the community will come together to bid farewell to Saheed Wahab.
