Mayorkun, the popular singer also known as Adewale Mayowa, recounted his meeting with Cross River State Governor Bassey Otu, where the governor assured him of compensation for the loss of his valuables in Calabar.
The singer shared the details on his X account on Tuesday, accompanied by a photo from the meeting. Mayorkun expressed gratitude to Governor Bassey Otu, highlighting the governor’s reassurance of Calabar’s hospitality and the commitment to compensate him for the lost items.
In his post, Mayorkun stated, “Just met with the Governor of Cross River State, H.E Prince Bassey Otu. He assured me that Calabar people remain very hospitable, and he has also stressed that I’ll be compensated for my valuables lost.
Thank you, sir 🫶🏾. Still searching for my pendant! 💎 It’s so special to me for many reasons. I have a N5m reward for anyone who finds and returns it. Please help spread the word! 🫶🏾”
This development comes after Mayorkun had earlier declared his decision not to perform in Calabar again following the theft of an undisclosed item during his Monday performance in the state.
The dissatisfaction with the overall experience was evident in his social media posts. Additionally, Mayorkun’s colleague, Iyanya, provided an update, revealing that one of the reportedly stolen neckchains has been returned.
