Manchester City misses opportunity to extend 23-game winning streak

Despite the Norwegian putting the Blues in control, his strike partner missed a crucial opportunity to seal the game, allowing the Merseysiders to capitalize on the situation.

Just 48 hours before the crucial clash with Liverpool, Erling Haaland battled through training with minor injuries. However, once the match commenced, he displayed exceptional physical prowess and determination, swiftly propelling his team into the lead and securing his place as the fastest player in Premier League history to reach 50 goals.

Throughout the game, City dominated, but a missed opportunity by Julian Alvarez, skillfully set up by the dynamic Jeremy Doku, left the match level. Unexpectedly, Liverpool seized an equalizer from Trent Alexander-Arnold.

Despite City’s relentless pursuit of a late winner, it eluded them, marking the conclusion of their impressive 23-game winning streak.
