Lagos doctor sentenced to life imprisonment for rape

Doctor Olufemi Olaleye, the Medical Director of the Optimal Cancer Care Foundation, was sentenced to life in prison on Tuesday by the Lagos State Sexual Offenses and Domestic Violence sitting in Ikeja for defiling his wife’s niece.

Olaleye was slammed with two counts charges that the Lagos State Government had brought against him, which included defilement and sexual assault by penetration of his wife’s niece.

He was sentenced by Judge Rahman Oshodi after he found him guilty of defiling and penetrating a 15-year-old girl sexually. The judge determined that all of the evidence presented to the court supported the victim’s account and that the prosecution had proven its case beyond a reasonable doubt.

Olaleye was charged with engaging in illicit sexual relations with his wife’s 15-year-old niece. Additionally, he was charged with forcing his penis into the teenager’s mouth in order to sexually attack her.

Aderemi Olaleye, the convict’s wife, testified in court during the trial that her husband had been assaulting her niece sexually while she was staying with them. She further stated in her testimony that the offender began by showing the victim pornography and engaging in oral sex, during which he discharged sperm into her mouth. This occurred between March 2020 and July 2021.

The girl admitted to a relative and their driver that the doctor had been having an affair with her, and the witness informed Justice Oshodi that the doctor had threatened to murder both her and her if she told anyone.

“My lord, on November 27, 2021, my second cousin told my aunty, who is my mother’s sister, that since March 2020, Femi has been sexually abusing her and has introduced her to pornography; from there, he graduated to oral sex with her, and that he does this,” stated the complainant, a mother of two, under oath.
