KogiDecides2023: I’m departing Kogi better than I met it – Bello

The Kogi State Governor, Alhaji Yahaya Bello, asserted his commitment to leaving the state in a better condition than when he assumed office. After casting his ballot at his Agaza country home in Okene on Saturday, Bello commended the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), security agencies, and the public for ensuring a peaceful election.

He dismissed negative portrayals of the state’s security, attributing them to media exaggeration. Bello highlighted the strides made in addressing security challenges during his administration, citing the absence of Boko Haram activities in the state.

Asserting his non-violent approach to politics, Bello expressed confidence in the capabilities of his successor to build on the foundations laid in the past eight years. He encouraged voters to maintain orderliness at polling units and emphasized the importance of casting votes responsibly.
