Killaboi arrested for alleged girlfriend murder in Sierra Leone

The suspect, known as Killaboi, fled Nigeria for Sierra Leone, where he allegedly spent $25,000 to acquire a fake passport in a new identity.

He was apprehended in Sierra Leone a week after the Lagos police declared him wanted for the murder of his girlfriend, Augusta Onuwabhagbe Osedion. Killaboi had been in hiding since confessing to the crime, which occurred on July 13, 2023, in his Oral Estate residence.

In response to public outcry, the Lagos police announced his wanted status on October 10, 2023. Reports indicate that Killaboi was captured at a nightclub in Freetown, Sierra Leone, on October 20, 2023. He had changed his name to Kanu Princeton Samuel for the acquisition of a new passport.

Although the Nigerian police have not yet confirmed the arrest, a photo of him in custody is circulating on social media. It is believed that his capture resulted from joint efforts between Nigerian authorities and Interpol.

Background:

The tragic incident unfolded when Killaboi confessed on his Instagram page, @Killaboigram_, to fatally stabbing Osedion during a heated argument. This admission came after the victim was reported missing, and her lifeless body was discovered at his residence in Oral Estate, Ikota, Lagos State. In a series of posts, Killaboi expressed remorse, expressing his willingness to face the consequences for his actions.
