katsina residents fleeing their communities for fear of being killed by bandits

In the wake of persistent attacks by bandits, the residents of Nahuta village in Batsari Local Government Area, Katsina State, are abandoning their homes to seek refuge elsewhere.

The mass exodus follows yet another assault on the community by bandits on Monday, January 15, 2024.

Families in Nahuta are taking precautions, relocating their children and loved ones to safer areas as the security situation in the region remains precarious.

Bandit activities have been a growing concern in Katsina, particularly in the North-West, where over 120 factions of these loosely organized armed groups are reported to operate.

On the same day, the Nigerian Military Joint Task Force Northwest Operation, Hadarin Daji, successfully repelled an attack on a joint military camp.

The troops, responsible for maintaining security in Sokoto, Katsina, Kebbi, and Zamfara states, effectively thwarted the assault, providing a semblance of resistance against the banditry plaguing the region.

Katsina State continues to grapple with the challenge of bandit activities, raising urgent concerns about the safety and security of its residents.
