Jenifa’s Diary Star Adejumoke Aderonmu Dies at 40, brother rejects condolence from Funke

Jenifa’s Diary Star Adejumoke Aderonmu Dies at 40, brother rejects condolence from Funke Akindele Nollywood actor Adejumoke Aderonmu is dead. The news of her death was confirmed by her brother, who wrote in a cryptic post on Instagram on Monday saying: “You are in a better place now, my sister,” attached to the post is an obituary of the late actress.

Many Nigerians came to know Adejumo Aderonmu after her role in Jennifer’s Diary. The late actor played the role of “Esther” in the popular series. Adejumoke was born on March 26, 1984, and passed away on Saturday, April 6, 2024, in a private hospital. A funeral has been held after her death at Owu Baptist Church, Totoro area of Abeokuta in Ogun State.

After the actor’s death was announced, Funke Akindele, the director of Jenifa’s Diary, also uploaded the obituary on her story with a condolence message to the family. This got the late actress’ brother angry, and he took to his Instagram story to air his grievances about the actress. He called her a wicked person, claiming she was just sending condolences for people to see it, as Funke Akindele was nowhere to be found when the late actress needed her the most and reached out to her.

He wrote on his Instagram post: “You Weh Dem Call Tire, Weh You No Turn Up, She Even Sent Pascal To You, You Still No Reach Out! Why The Eye Service Now Weh She Don Kpai? Omo! Shoutout To Rita Dominic & Sotayo Gaga”.

In another post, he added that he wasn’t feeling entitled to Funke Akindele’s help. This is as a result of people telling him not to have expected any help from Funke Akindele since they knew him and his family didn’t get Funke Akindele to where she is today. Others also added that her sister only worked for the actress and she got paid. Aderonmu Adeola, the late actress’ brother, wrote on another post that he wasn’t feeling entitled but just doesn’t want any condolence message or visit from Funke Akindele. He wrote “If You Want To Defend Anybody It’s Fine! After All There’s Nothing We Can Do About It But, Don’t Be An Hypocrite By Changing The Narrative, Nobody Is Feeling Entitled! If You Refused To Show Love When Person Dey Alive, No Dev Do Eye Service When Person Kpai! Just Look-away Nobody Go Reason Your Matter”.

Funke Akindele has since then remained silent, as many Nigerians are expecting her to respond to the allegation.Throughout her career, Aderounmu graced the screen in over ten movies, both in English and Yoruba, including “Alakada2”, “Industreet”, and “Dazzling Mirage”. Her legacy showed unwavering commitment to her craft.
