Ibadan micra driver reveals why he wears his wife’s dress while driving passengers

Afeez Adedigba, a driver who recently went viral for wearing his wife’s dress while driving a popular Micra taxi in Ibadan, Oyo State, has shared the reason behind his unusual attire.

Adedigba explained that the incident occurred after his clothes were drenched in the rain, leaving him with no other option but to wear his wife’s dress to continue working. In an interview with media personality Ayo Adams on Monday, he shared that he had informed his wife about using her dress, and she agreed.

“This isn’t the only dress of my wife’s that I have. I actually have two. The first time I wore one was during a heavy downpour when all my clothes got soaked. Since I wanted to keep working, I had no choice but to wear hers,” Adedigba explained. “Now, I wear her dress when it rains and switch to mine when it stops. That’s why I keep it in my car.”

When asked about passengers’ reactions to his attire, Adedigba said he wasn’t bothered by their comments. His main focus remains on earning enough to take home and meet the vehicle owner’s expectations.

“I’ve been driving this Micra for a long time, and I only pray for God’s favor in my job. I turned to driving after I couldn’t raise the capital to start selling tires, which I had learned to do at a young age,” he said.

Adedigba also dismissed rumors that he resorted to wearing his wife’s dresses due to a fight that resulted in his clothes being torn. He emphasized that he is a dedicated family man, with one wife and four children, who works hard to provide for their needs.
