Fatal Ogun road accident claims two lives and leaves eight injured

Two individuals have lost their lives, and eight others sustained injuries in a tragic road accident along the Idiroko-Ota road. The incident, involving 10 individuals—comprising five male adults, four female adults, and one female child—occurred around 8 pm on Sunday, as reported by the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC).

The FRSC disclosed on Monday that the collision involved a Man Diesel truck with the license plate LSR10YD and a Toyota Carina without a license plate. The preliminary investigation points to wrongful overtaking, resulting in a head-on collision.

Florence Oko, the FRSC spokesperson in Ogun, provided details, stating, “The crash claimed two lives (male adults) and left eight people injured (four female adults, three male adults, and one female child).” The injured victims were promptly transported to General Hospital, Idiroko, for medical treatment, while the deceased were handed over to their respective families.

CC Anthony Uga, the Sector Commander of the FRSC Ogun Sector Command, offered advice in light of the incident, urging motorists to maintain a clear vision of 150 to 200 meters at night and to exercise controlled speed, especially when overtaking. The FRSC continues to investigate the circumstances surrounding the tragic collision.
